Medemblik, located on the IJsselmeer, is known for its rich history and picturesque West Frisian landscape. To digitally put this unique region on the map and attract more visitors, we were hired to strengthen the tourism platform. We set to work with an approach that brought Medemblik’s cultural heritage, natural splendor, and cozy villages to life.
Our assignment was to support Visit Medemblik from A to Z and create a full digital marketing plan. This included everything from a strategic consultation and 0 measurement to the implementation of a targeted digital approach, where both social media and engaging content would highlight the region. The result was to be a consistent, recognizable look and feel that highlights Medemblik’s unique attractions and local charm and increases reach and interaction with the target audience.
We started with a 0-meting to get a clear picture of Visit Medemblik’s current digital performance and areas for improvement. Based on this analysis, we developed a marketing plan with a targeted focus on storytelling, cultural preservation and local collaborations. Our content creation consisted of a combination of photos, videos and drone shots, capturing Medemblik’s unique history and natural beauty.
All this was reinforced with strategic social media management, where we redesigned Visit Medemblik’s channels and curated content based on four core pillars: nature, water sports, collaboration and history. With weekly posts, stories and interactive community management, we ensured that Medemblik sparkles online and builds an engaged audience. We supported this strategy with website optimization, SEO updates and topical newsletters to further strengthen visibility and engagement.
